Zebrane w niniejszym tomie teksty autorów z Czech, Francji, Grecji, Niemiec, Polski, Wielkiej Brytanii i Włoch obejmują szeroką gamę tematów, od problemów metodologicznych po zagadnienia związane z konkretnymi okresami i regionami. Sympozjum Egejskie. Papers in Aegean Archaeology to nowa anglojęzyczna seria wydawnicza redagowana przez pracowników i doktorantów Zakładu Archeologii Egejskiej Instytutu Archeologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. Pełni ona rolę przewodnika po najnowszych trendach badawczych w archeologii egejskiej, prezentując zarówno tematy, którymi zajmują się młodzi naukowcy, jak i różnorodne metody oraz podejścia badawcze.

The papers included in the volume, by authors from Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy and Poland, cover a wide range of issues, from some methodological problems to the specific subjects connected with different periods and areas. Among the others, they concern pottery from Pre- and Protopalatial Ayia Triada in Crete, symbolism of textile tools from Cyprus, meaning of representations of birds in Cretan art., Minoan kilns, kitchens in Zakro, methodology of the study of gaming stones from Cyprus, changes in the Cult Centre of Mycenae in Late Helladic IIIB, metal objects from the lower part of the East-Aegean-West Anatolian Interface, ‘biographies’ of Aegean metal headbands, relations between the communities from the Struma and Vardar valleys in Northern Greece, and a possible link between the Cup of Nestor from Mycenae and the Homeric Nestor’s cup in the Iliad.

Sympozjum Egejskie. Papers in Aegean Archaeology is a new English-language series edited by the researchers and postgraduate students of the Department of Aegean Archaeology, Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw. It was meant as a guide that presents the most recent research trends in the Aegean archaeology, including the subjects undertaken by early career scholars as well as various scientific methods.

Sympozjum Egejskie. Papers in Aegean Archaeology is a peer-reviewed series designed to fultil the role of a platform presenting and introducting a broad scope of new research approaches and themes, as well as the work of newcomers to ghe discipline, i.e. those authors who are at the beginning of their research career in the field of Aegean Archaeology. We hope that this series will serve as a concise guide presenting the most recent research undertaken by early career scholares, as well as new trends in archaeology of the Bronze Age Aerean.
